What do Insulators do?

TRACER CESSCO Vessel University of Alberta, 2003
Samples of IAHFIAW Local 110 work at TRACER CESSCO and the UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA

Insulators protect people, businesses and the environment by ensuring equipment is protected from heat and frost elements. They prepare and apply many different materials and protective coverings to pipes, vessels, tanks and other commercial and industrial equipment. Insulators learn the trade by working for four years as apprentices, earning as they work and attending school at various points throughout the apprenticeship. Journeyman Insulators can work around the world or close to home.
