Local 110 apprentice Jeff Archer has won the International's Master Apprentice Competition held in Cincinnati, Ohio from June 21 to June 25, 2010. Jeff was named "Best of the Best" in the competition amongst all the US conferences, Eastern and Western Canada, and independent Local 17 Chicago. He is the first Canadian to win this competition. Jeff works for Thermo Design in Edmonton. Our Training Centre has also received a Gardner-Bully combination beader/crimper as a prize for Jeff winning the competition. Thanks Jeff for a  great job representing the Local!

Congratulations to 3rd year apprentice Dylan Brunt for winning the Gold medal at the Skills Canada Alberta Provincial Skills Competition in Mechanical Insulation held on May 12-13 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. The Silver medal was won by 4th year apprentice Stephen Saunders. Well done Dylan and Stephen!

The winner of the Western Canadian Apprentice Competition held in Edmonton on April 29 and 30 was Jeff Archer of Local 110. He competed against Rob Sheck of Local 118, Vancouver B.C., and Ken Kerr of Local 119, Regina Saskatchewan. The competition was very close and all three competitors did an excellent job.

Jeff now proceeds to the International's Master Apprentice Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is being held  from June 21-25, 2010.He will compete against the top apprentices from every conference in the US and a competitor from Eastern Canada.

Jeff is a 4th year apprentice and works for Thermo Design in Edmonton.Good Luck Jeff!
